Last week, Karen and I attended that British Sociological Association’s Bourdieu study group event, ‘Bourdieu in migration, ‘race’ and ethnicity studies’. Karen gave one of the keynotes, drawing on her co-authored (with Caroline Oliver) article, A Bourdieusian analysis of class and migration and on her development of practice stories for understanding migration, an approach that is also explained in her recent book International Migration and Social Theory (Palgrave 2012).
